Rooster Moon Wanes

As our spicy Chicken Moon comes to a close, we want to utilize every last bit of her influence to close up shop. We may not get another chance to put all those last minute details in order, so put off anything and everything that can wait and focus on meeting your deadlines! Make use of this last chance energy to wrap up your workload and avoid accruing late fees.

As for the poetry of the moment, wrap it up. If we compared the length of a year to the length of a day, this particular phase would be aligned with the early evening - just before dusk. "Night fall," ie Winter, is upon us. Let's tidy up, settle down, and get ready for bed. Doesn't that sound nice?
To make this make sense, get it done. This is the time to finalize that draft, double check your work, and submit a polished project. Try not to entertain anything new or exciting just yet - wait until the Spring. Go home and settle down for now. Sink into the well weathered groove of your restful rituals and evening wind-down routines - this is the beginning of Winter.

✧ Goodnight Rooster ✧

Wrap Up: Focus on the finish
Clock Out:
Don't beat around the bush
Travel Wise: Dodge traffic and beat the rush
Wash Up: Don't take the day into bed
Go to Sleep: Invest in rest

It's Almost Bed Time

The Daoist Outlook・109
Full Fire Rooster Moon    Much like last month's Monkey, we've got another moon of Fire - except this one is Yin. Instead of some raging flame, think of it more like a sizzling stack of coals with searing embers crackling against the romantic contrast of a moonlit horizon. When you mix that up that with the agitated gait of a Yang Fire Horse Year, it looks just like a phoenix rising from it's...
The Daoist Outlook・108
Yin Rooster Moon Rises    Roosters have great energy for finishing. Imagine the floor, covered in grit, rocks, and pebbles - a chicken has no problem picking out a little insect or a tiny seed. Right? Use this energy to cross those T's and dot those I's. In the conversation of closing up, no other archetype gets it right like the Rooster.    As for the poetry of the moment, wrap it up. Why k...
The Daoist Outlook・107
Yin Fire Rooster Moon    Back up Monkey King, it's Rooster time. If there's anything that can keep a Fire Monkey in check, it has to be his successor, the incredible Yin Fire Hen. This Kentucky Fried archetype is hot headed, aggressive, and strapped with a carbon-steel-beak and cast-iron-claws. Watch out - she will peck you.    As for the poetry of the moment, get out of the way. You wouldn'...
