The Daoist Outlook・077

Feb 13, 2026

Happy New Year!

Forget about that Gregorian timeline everyone keeps raving about, in this community, we celebrate the moon! According to the mainstream, we're still in 2026 - but by our measure, we're already in the year 4724! That's nearly a 27 century long discrepency. Talk about a margain of error!

As for the poetry of the moment, chill out. You think the sky's never fallen before? In this collective culture, we've had at least a good dozen different dances with collapse since Y2k alone. Every generation has made it through their own "end-times" scenario - how many more do you think we'll have to face in the next 2700 years? See folks, this show is far from over.
To make this make sense, let yourself relax. Turn off all your devices and tune into life. While our black scry screens keep us tuned into stressful and divisive things, the sun still shines and the birds still sing. So go outside and hold the hand of someone you love. Share a long, sweet stroll in silence. Be a source of softness for your world - what better way to start the New Year?

✧ Happy Chinese New Year ✧

Eat Dumplings: They resemble little ingots of gold.
Eat Oranges: They are round, and bright. Like gold coins!
Eat Fresh Fish: A symbol of abundance, wealth, and prosperity!
Pop Fireworks:
Scare away Bad Luck. Wake up Good Luck.
Share Joy: Give away red envelopes filled with love.

The Beginning is Here!

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
