A Full Fire Pig Moon

Last week we leaned in on the internal transformative power of a pig, but did you know that it has an external transformative capacity too? It's true! If you plucked a feral boar from the wild - tusks, hair, and all - and threw it in a pen, within 3-6 mo. it'd look no different from all the other porky pigs. In the same way, if you take an heirloom, blue ribbon piglet from the barnyard and let it loose, it wouldn't be long before it grew fresh hair and tusks of its own!

As for the poetry of the moment, allow yourself to adapt. Hard breaks and sharp dulls. Let's not mistake stiff for strong or stagnant for stable - life has a little wiggle to it. Lao Tzu says, "Life is soft and supple. Death is rigid and hard." True power, then, is found within our capacity to adapt - not hold. So let go of your hard earned limitations and stop fighting your own progress.
To make this make sense, be malleable. Accept other perspectives and try on new views - especially of yourself. Know that you can't know everything and that it's possible to entertain an idea without adopting it. Use your eyes to observe, your ears to understand, your hands to create, and your feet to share. Try on new tools for a new tomorrow and welcome your evolution.

✧ External Transformation ✧
Peep the Scene: Look, listen, and feel.
Check for the Exits: Make sure you have an out.
Play the Perimeter: Dip your toes in the water first.
Give it a Shot: Go ahead and get a little silly.
Get Home Early: Try again another day.

It's not Creation, It's not Evolution, It's Both.

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
