Monkey Moon Wanes

Here we are again! It almost feels like yesterday when we last honored the whimsical Monkey Butt/Chicken Head combo as the end of one lunar phase and the beginning of another. Can you believe an entire year has passed?! Since our first edition dropped 13 moons ago, our modest readership has bloomed from handfuls to hundreds! We're really cooking with gas now!

As for the poetry of the moment, now it's about defining and refining our moves. A Monkey's tail can be kinked and coiled and yet still be intelligent and expressive - relative to a Chicken's beak which is far more sharp, curt, and discerning. Navigating the rift between these two contrasting qualities can translate as a total mindset shift, but knowing the needs of the season allows us to make appropriate moves towards our missions and ambitions all while keeping a calibrated connection to the current of the cosmos.
To make this make sense, reel it all in. Sleep earlier. Wake up later. Work less. Eat less. Rest more. As we head into the ninth moon, you'll really want to minimize and simplify - don't drag bad habits into Winter.

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
