The Daoist Outlook・045

Jul 04, 2025

Waxing Water Goat Moon

This is a funny phase. It feels like the world is really ramping up and yet the action of the moon is one of slowing things down. This pivot on a peak would break the ankle of any other animal, but not our friend the goat. See, a ram can handle sharp summits, and can be perfectly content sucking salt! Just be sure to keep it moving. Goats get grumpy when they're stuck solo.

As for the poetry of the moment, this is the time to slow down and return to the herd. Get off that cliff and connect with your clan. Alone, you can go fast, but you'll need your team to go far. If you intend to make it through the long haul to Fall, you'd better gather the kids and link back with your pack.
The double Goat Moon has only just begun. This pushes Autumn back till the end of August. The last leap year we had was back with Rabbit year. We won't see another one until the Double Horse in Monkey. If this stuff doesn't make any sense to you - GOOD! This is ancient zodiac science, it's going to take a while to seep in. So, stay subscribed... one day it might click!

✧ Learning How to Goat ✧

Use your Words: You know how you feel, others don't.
Ride with a Tribe: Cruising is always better with a crew.
Progress over Perfection: Continue to refine as you go.
Don't Rush: Delegate your duties. Make room for slow.
Suck it Up: Everyone's hot. Complaining isn't cool.

Spring Up, Prowl Down

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
