Last Two Weeks of Autumn

Here we are at the full yang wood dog moon. We're now down to the last two weeks before the winter chill creeps in. If you asked Ole' Greg, autumn has only just begun. Lady Luna, on the other hand, already has her scarves and sweaters out. Better lap up the last of those pumpkin spice lattĂ©s, we're moving on to peppermint, pine cone, and chestnut season.

Now, before we jump ahead of ourselves, we still need to finish fall. This week, we honor Cai Shen, the money god! This diety's a funny one. Sure, he's honored for money and wealth, but really, he represents value. Asians don't brag about the money they have as much as they brag about all of the money they save. Right? With that in mind, don't strive to be rich, strive to be efficient, effective, and essential - that way, you'll always have enough.

✧ Life's True Treasures ✧

A Healthy Body: What good is money if you're sick?
A Healthy Mind: What good is money if you're insane?
A Happy Home: What good is money if you're lonely?
A Happy Heart: What good is money if you're stingy?

Value > Money

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
