Dog Moon Wanes

After a long hard day of work, friends, and play, you finally get to rest. Let yourself unwind and settle in for the night. As the days grow shorter and the nights grow colder, it's only natural to cozy up and settle down. While all the trouble making trolls scramble through the streets tricking for treats, a good dog stays at home - restfully nestled at its master's feet.

As for the poetry of the moment, be obedient. In our tradition, the impulse to be out late, raging through the night is no different than a possession or a haunting. If you've ever been the designated driver, you can literally see the "spirits" loosen inhibitions as your lads lap up libations. The fun is fleeting, the hook-ups are hollow, and the hangovers are horrible - why bother?
To make this make sense, stay inside. If you're feeling the urge to rest and digest - do it - listen to your body's wisdom. If you're feeling the urge to let loose and paint the town red - be careful. Pretend you don't have electricity. Would you be out and running about? No, you'd be huddled with your tribe trying to stay alive. Align yourself with nature's flow or transform into one of those eerie ghosts in a shell with a haunting neon glow.

Make your Bed: Treat it like an altar
Go to Bed:
Even if you're not that tired yet
Sleep deeply: Get as many hours as you can
Stay in Bed: Don't even set your alarm
Lavish: Wear Pajamas all day

The Daoist Outlook・112
Dog Moon Rises    Dogs are loyal, loving, and kind. They are responsible, dependable, sweet, caring, and compassionate. The only downside to a dog is that they can be a little naive at times - borderline gullible. Dogs are loyal to a fault. They will follow their master to the ends of the earth - even if their master is an idiot.    As for the poetry of the moment, be helpful, but help yours...

Yang Earth Dog Moon     We did it, the bulk of the heat is behind us. If you've been following along this whole time, then you would know we've been working our way home to close out the year in comfort. There's no need to be out and running about. Why not get cozy in front of the fire with a warm cup of cocoa instead?    As for the poetry of the moment, this moon is like a loyal pet dog. Im...
