The Horse Moon Wanes

Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.

As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on your path. It's bad enough that horses wear blinders - but even if they didn't, it's not like they'd ever look back anyway. If we live life without a rearview, how will we ever learn from our blunders? They often say that hindsight is 20/20, but that's only true if we use it.
To make this make sense, be accountable. The ends don't always justify the means. Maybe you could make an omelette without cracking any eggs? Breaking our integrity for sake of short term gain is never a good strategy in the grand scheme of things. So lift up that rug and see what's been swept underneath it. God only knows how long we've ignored our shortcomings.

✧ Taking Responsibility ✧

With Our Neighbors: Maybe we were rude first?
With Our Peers:
Maybe we're the ones being difficult?
With Our Friends: Maybe we're the one that's self centered?
With Our Family: Maybe we're the one that's absent?
With Ourselves: How can we learn from this?

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...

Happy Dragon Boat!    Each and every year on the Fifth Day of the Fifth Moon, we get to enjoy a Dragon Boat Festival. It's common to wrap and steam bundles of glutinous rice called Zong Zi, and share them amongst neighbors. This is the time to celebrate the pinnacle of Yang - where all systems are GO!    As for the poetry of the moment, let's get going! It's time to race - if not with others...
