Full Water Dragon Moon

Boom! It's kind of the perfect word for the moment. This is Yang rising. In many ways, this is exactly what Yang is supposed to feel like - fast, abrupt, chaotic, and dangerous. These acute flashes of random aggression are all the more amplified in a Yang Fire Horse Year. Funny thing is, this isn't just a for now thing - this is going to be for a while... at least another 8 moons.

As for the poetry of the moment, ramp up. Ready or not, this is the time to get going. You don't have to run just yet, but you should at least be jogging. The world is picking up it's pace and we can either keep up or get dragged behind - there's no slow lane. Life is living - and it's happening NOW.
To make this make sense, let's keep it moving. Even if you've got nothing to do, at least look like you're busy. At some point, the $#&@ will hit the fan, and you'll want to have some solid momentum behind you when it happens. If you're not in over your head already, then consider this a warm-up. The Fire Horse year has only just begun - and the best/worst has yet to come.

✧ Shifu Says ✧

Last weekend I got to demo at a local church for World Tai Chi and Qigong day. In years past, I've always been opposed to this holiday. It's no different than a Valentines, Christmas, or Thanksgiving to me - why would we need a fancy holiday to love, share gifts, or be grateful? Similarly, why would I need a special day to practice Tai Chi? We do these things daily - right?

Well, a darling old Qigong teacher of mine, Cynthia Eaton, invited me over to her church to present for the holiday and I just couldn't say no. The event itself was so sweet. There were about 60 or so in attendance, including my incredible wife and child! I had everyone breathing, stretching, laughing and playing silly games together. In the end, we all got into pairs and exchanged a simple partner massage sequence. It was awesome. Sure, it was all done in the name of a generic holiday, but hopefully I drove my point home - you can do Tai Chi any day - all day - everyday. No one has ever overdosed!
After such a successful event, naturally, we got ourselves a bunch of new subscribers - so if you're new to this crew - WELCOME! First and foremost, you absolutely have to get enrolled in our FREE Zoom classes. Then, if you like the curriculum, we have an intensive running every Wednesday night in May. For those of you that are into broader conversations of the Dao, there is an interview series called "Deep Steeps," a monthly astrology series that we call "Tea Drunk," a monthly tea club complimented by a tea appreciation series called "This is How to Brew It," and, of course, those monthly zodiac readings from Madame Xu. Beyond all that, we also host regular workshops, in-person events, provide Feng Shui consults for a home or office, conduct kung fu tea ceremony, or even run personalized astrology readings. We're busy! If you're interested in any of these offerings, just click one of the live links above, or simply schedule a consultation call. Let's get you involved!

The Eight Immortal Methods

Recently, we ran through a short set known as the Eight Immortal Methods. It's cute, compact, and deceptively simple - and despite being so sweet and easy, this qigong set delivers outsized results for those that stay consistent. Students reported feeling more open, more mobile, and more connected to themselves - proof that you don’t need complexity to create real change.

We’ve now moved on to our next phase of training, the Tai Chi Treasures series, but many of you have been asking for a way to continue working on the Eight Immortals Methods. So Shifu took some time behind the scenes to create a comprehensive instructional course designed to take you deep into the practice. Whether you’ve barely begun or you're returning to refine, this program gives you everything you need to get your momentum up and keep you pumping through this Yang Fire Horse Year.
The course is comprehensive, with standing, seated, and lying variations, along with a few of our favorite "broken rule" modifications for those of you with special needs. You’ll also receive guided practice videos for daily use - in both long and short form styles. Plus, as an added bonus, we're throwing in a LIVE practice session over Zoom to tap in with the crew, ask questions, and share breakthroughs! That's a lot of value in one course! Enroll now!

Waxing Water Dragon    Shifu often talks about how big a Dragon can get. Imagine a beast so big it can fill the entire sky! It's like the first Star Wars intro where you can see the bottom of a starship cruiser and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger as the screen pans down. Similarly, the classics describe Dragons as being so big that your eyes can't contain all of one at once...

Yang Water Dragon Moon    Dude! Remember the last big Water Dragon of 2012? Can you remember how crazy that year was? Now, imagine all of that "crazy" compacted into one moon! Sure, we've had a few Water Dragon Moons since... so it's not like the sky is going to fall or anything like that - but you can still expect some curve balls to come hurtling your way.    As for the poetry of the momen...

Rabbit Moon Wanes    And just like that, the second moon drifts away. If you have ever heard the expression "Time Flys," well, now you get to live it. Here we are, only having just begun the year, and we're already at the end of Spring! This raging Fire Horse has really ramped up from a trot to a gallop, and there are no signs of slowing. So hang tight - we've still got a lot of Yang in stock...
