The Full Earth Rat Moon

Rat's are social, but homely. This is the time of year for a rat to snuggle up and stay home with the people they love. In saying this, we don't mean host, and we certainly don't mean entertain. This is when warm blooded rodents want to cuddle and get their tails tied up. This is intimacy, not diplomacy.

As for the poetry of the moment, "Netflix and chill." Be okay with the quiet company of a loved one. These long nights after the solstice are silent, holy, calm and tight. There are literal lulabies and hymnals sung about this phase of Yin. If you're fortunate enough to have a significant other, then cuddle up butter cup. If you only have a couple friends, then share your deep thoughts over home-made meals. If all you have is yourself, then light a little fire and sing yourself a soft song. Savor these golden moments of delicate intimacy.
To make this make sense, connect. It doesn't take much. All you need is a little time and vulnerability - and both are free. So un-plug, wind-down, and ease-up just enough to make an otherwise normal moment special.

✧ Get your Tails Tangled ✧
Spend the Night In: Make it a Blockbuster night.
Serve a Hearty Stew: Put that crock-pot to good use.
Go for a Stroll: Keep it moving with a brisk, digestive jaunt.
Open Up Some: Discover the power of vulnerability.
Keep Warm: Bundle up. Make a friction fire.

The Horse Moon Wanes    Have you ever noticed that some horses wear blinders? They're these tiny little flaps of black leather that block off the sides of a horses eyes to shield their periferal vision. They're common amongst service horses and calvary. It keeps them focused and it prevents them from getting overly stimulated.    As for the poetry of the moment, take some time to reflect on ...

Full Wood Horse Moon    BOOM! If only we could start this edition off with a sound effect, or better yet, a theme song. This is the peak of Mount Everest - the highest point of the year. We've made it. You can pat yourself on the back. Great job! Now we get to watch the mushroom cloud and steer clear of the fall out.     As for the poetry of the moment, go ahead, take a breather. With the wo...

Waxing Wood Horse Moon   It's Summer Solstice season, the absolute peak of our annual solar cycle - you doing okay? Whether you're Kid Icarus or Tony Montana from Scarface, the story remains the same, "Careful not to fly too high." You'd be better off floating and coasting at a steady cruising altitude for the rest of this phase.    As for the poetry of the moment, don't over extend yourself...
