Waxing Metal Rabbit

We all know of the classic adage depicting the epic race between the old tortoise and the spry young hare - well, we're living it now. If you're aligned with the mainstream-machine-mind-clock-calendar-construct, then you're likely under the impression that Spring has only just begun - but that would be the rabbit in this instance. The real winner of the race is our turtle moon - the lunar cycle - by which Spring had already started a month ago. 🌸

As for the poetry of the moment, why race to a dead end? Ever see those lunatics on the roadway that rush in front of you to get ahead only to end up right next to you at the same red light? It's all just a waste of gas, right? Try to apply the same logic here. There's no point in getting gassed up with a hot engine if we all wind up at the exact same stop sign in the end.
To make this make sense, just listen to Aesop - "Slow and steady wins the race." Outside of any baseline necessities, there isn't much else to be done. Before you sully your schedule with more tasks to take on, vet your to-do's through three fundamental filters: 1. Does this need to be done? 2. Does this need to be done - now? 3. Does this need to be done now - by me?

✧ The Second Moon of Spring ✧

Start Slow: Set the tone early in your day.
Take Your Time: Why rush to a red light? Cruise.
Smell the Roses: Let some beauty in your life.
Let it Go: Life blooms on it's own accord.
Share Smiles: Don't be a joy hoarder.

Yin Metal Rabbit Moon    Shifu will often joke about the Yin Metal Rabbit relating to O.J. Simpson. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense - at least from a Chinese Astrology perspective. Look at a zodiac wheel and you'll find the Rabbit precariously tucked between two beasts of prey - Dragons above and Tigers below - just like O.J. being chased in his white Bronco by police cars AND h...
The Daoist Outlook・081
Metal Tiger Moon Wanes    It's the tail end of the Tiger moon, and quite frankly, Tigers don't have the best batting average - they miss far more than they hit. Fortunately, the hits are often big enough to split the difference, but just like a Tiger's stripes, its life is rather "off and on"/"feast or famine." It can be quite the rollercoaster.    As for the poetry of the moment, hone in. Y...
The Daoist Outlook・080
Full Metal Tiger Moon    Tigers are on top of the food chain. Once they eat their fill, they could nap for days on end and not have a single care in the world. The only thing that can get a tiger moving again is it's own hunger, otherwise, you've got a big, lazy cat on your hands. As fun as this sounds, it's actually quite fragile. Just think, a tiger has zero defense because it never needs t...
